Hello Bennett!
This past week in movement, we worked on a brand new dance concept! We started learning about Sharp Energy, which is movement that has stops, and Smooth Energy, which is continuous, non-stop movement. We applied this concept of energy to everything we did, from our Braindance, to our Locomotors across the floor, our Improvisation, and our game at the end. The game we played at the end was called Two Worlds – one world being “Sharp World,” and the other being “Smooth World.” In this game, your child practiced dancing both sharp and smooth, and transitioning between the two worlds! Ask your child which energy they liked the best, sharp or smooth! I can’t wait to be back next week to keep up with all of these dancers’ awesome work!
Best,
Miss Jessie
